New ShieldScan from Pepperl & Fuchs combines advanced detection technology with a compact corner-mounted design, delivering discreet, reliable protection for a wide range of automatic swing door applications.

RTR Services are pleased to introduce the Pepperl & Fuchs ShieldScan Safety Sensor for Automatic Swing Doors to our wide range of safety sensors.
Advanced Door Safety. Intelligent Protection.
ShieldScan is a swing door safety sensor designed to deliver excellent performance in a slim, compact package. Its low-profile corner-mounted housing integrates seamlessly into virtually any door design, providing discreet protection without compromising aesthetics or installation flexibility.
Utilising solid-state Time-of-Flight (ToF) scanning technology, ShieldScan is the first swing door safety sensor to employ static ToF technology, delivering highly reliable obstacle detection with no moving parts and completely silent operation.
Comprehensive Protection Where It Matters Most
The sensor's optimised and adjustable beam pattern enables tailored protection for a wide range of door applications. At the leading edge, the protective field is angled forward to ensure effective detection around door handles.
At the hinge side, ShieldScan employs an innovative curved detection field that continuously monitors pinch points. The curved beam design intelligently detects obstructions and helps prevent injury by identifying hazards before contact occurs.
Intelligent Detection Technology
ShieldScan features an advanced Virtual Wall function that automatically adjusts the protective field to accommodate the operating environment. This intelligent adaptation ensures optimal coverage while reducing unnecessary detections.
It measures distance using individual beam analysis. This approach provides exceptional resistance to environmental challenges, including polished or reflective floor surfaces, ambient light interference, and unwanted reflections, ensuring consistent and dependable performance.
